The ocean supplies much of the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we drink. That means no matter where you live, your life depends on the ocean. Our health of our ocean directly affect us and our ability to manage impacts on the ocean will make a critical difference in sustaining the resources and ecosystems that we need to thrive.
We are pleased to invite you and your company to the largest volunteer effort in preserving our ocean: The International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) every 3rd Saturday of September. This environmental event is joined by hundreds of thousands of people across the globe. In fact, the Philippines is the second largest participating country in the world in the last several years
Through the data collected from Ocean Conservancy’s annual cleanup, innovations to develop materials, manufacturing processes and products that will interrupt the cycle of pollution has been made.
Indeed, without effective engineering and policy interventions—combined with citizen action— that break the chain of marine debris, ocean trash will continue to be out of control, and the impacts on wildlife, on our economy and on human health will only get worse.
The ICC unites everyone in cleaning our waterways and inspire people to change their methods of dealing with trash. However this movement is also about every additional person making a change adds up to something meaningful. Only by working together can we solve these issues with our environment.
Please join us and show your support in this noble endeavor in protecting our oceans and build a movement to stop trash at the source.
This event is organized by The Lighthouse Marina Resort Legacy Foundation in cooperation with the International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians (IYFR) Philippine Fleet. For the complete list of sponsors and partners, click here.
